The WVU Soil Testing Laboratory has been part of the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Design for over fifty years. Our lab is led by soil science faculty within the college, and follows science based methods to generate your soil test results. We work closely with the WVU Extension Service providing them with soil test results and fertility recommendation required by our West Virginia landowners. We are part of the Mid-Atlantic Soil Testing and Plant Analysis Work Group, and the North American Proficiency Testing Program of the Soil Science Society of America. Our goal is to provide timely, accurate and scientifically based soil analysis and recommendations to West Virginia residents and other interested parties. Our lab processes between eleven and twelve thousand samples a year.
